In August 2003, Operation Soldier Care (OSC) began sending care packages to our troops serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf area. OSC is implemented through many Bible & Life classes at First Baptist Church Naples.
When OSC receives a soldier’s name, the soldier is adopted by OSC, which means OSC will send care packages to that soldier until he/she returns home. OSC makes nine shipments per year including Thanksgiving and Christmas. The average care packages weighs approximately 13 pounds and they are stuffed with the soldier's favorite food items and snacks. While the goodies we send are very important, the most important thing we are providing is hope through Jesus Christ... through Bibles, Christian books and magazines, cards and letters.
